Cheers Christian and thanks for the marvellous visual treat.. that's a great shot and awesome colour rendering !! Tripod or handheld ??
Handheld, f/8 (as I said I just leave it at that when outside), 1/40, ISO 400. I might have had a Nikon 81a warming filter on, and the lens hood - I don't remember.

I did shoot a bit underexposed and adjusted levels and contrast later. I usually do that to get nicer colors. But really, I was just playing around with other lenses at the back of my office getting some after-the-rain bokeh shots, and thought, why not take a wider shot as well. I only took 3 pictures or so with this lens and that is one of them...

If you pixel peep in flickr (I uploaded full size) you'll see it's not far from prime standards, at least at f/8, and despite being hand held...

Previous to my acquisition of the Tokina 19-35mm f/3.5-4.5 I had the Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8-4 EX DG (second version that took 77mm filters). The Tokina was better at f/3.5-4.5 at all focal lengths than the Sigma was at f/3.5-4.5, and I would have thought the Sigma would be better since it wasn't fully open and it was a premium lens (in retrospect I think the Sigma was a bad copy). I also compared the Tokina 19-35mm f/3.5-4.5 to my Tokina 17mm f/3.5 prime lens (an old manual focus), and while 17mm isn't 19mm, the quality of the picture from the zoom at 19mm was on par with the quality from the 17mm prime.

A couple more from the Tokina 19-35 from this weekend. The tractor pic has no sharpening whatsoever - I thought the default sharpening was taking away a bit of the "3D effect" (not that there is that much) - so I took it off.
