Yes, the backlit ear is the key feature. It's not always about the eyes.

Quite! Those leaves on the right are really blurry!

I've got three Limited lenses...21, 40 + 70. All great, all very sharp. However my favourite is the 70. I find if I take three bodies..each...with one of these Limited lenses attached...to one shoot....invariably most of the keepers come from the 70.
I have had the same experience and feel the same. My favorite shots are from the DA 70. Never seems to take a bad picture!!

I only have one of the DA Limiteds and it is the DA 70/2.4.

It is my go to portraits lens. Love it.

My favorite were the 35mm macro and the 43mm LTD.
The 35mm Macro was so versatile, you could shoot 1:1 macro and then shoot a landscape without swapping lenses.
The 43mm Limited because the rendering was just so nice.

At one point, I have owned all the limiteds at one time or another, and in my humble opinion, the FA LTDs were much better than the DA limiteds. The DA limiteds don't offer much more than what you can get from a good zoom IQ-wise.

I have four out of the five DA limited lenses (all but the Macro). The DA 70mm produces the most stunning images for me, with the DA 15mm a close second.

I have the 21, 40, and 70. I use the 21 the most as I like to shoot wide. But I have only had the 70 a short time now and am really starting to appreciate it. These three lenses have such a great combination of build quality, light weight, and great image quality.

15, 20-40, 21, 35, 40, 70 makes six, or eleven if you take SMC and HD as different.

I've purchased two DA limited lenses...the 15 and the 70. I sold the 70 but will never sell the 15...
That being said, I have all the FA limiteds....31, 43 and 77 and there's a reason that these lenses are expensive and desireable...they simply produce excellent images and are all fast and compact. I will never sell any of them ever.
I have some zooms like the 12-24 which is an excellent lens but it is big.
