Budda,

You dog! Looks like you are building the same kit I want but you way ahead of me --slowdown. I have the 16-50 the 50-135 and DA 70. Guess I need to get busy and get on the ball. My next will be the DA 300. Really nice group of lenses ---Just wish we had a K1D to go with them!

BJ, I'd be interested in seeing a showdown between the DA* 300mm and the DA* 200mm + Tamron 1.4x TC. Are you up for it?
NP, and I will go ahead and say right now w/o doing a real head to head contest that the DA*300 will win that battle. The DA*200 with the Tammy 1.4x TC is more prone to PF from what I have seen in my early stress tests, but useable in the right conditions., the 2x version was a joke. Granted I did not put the DA*300 to those same tests but I will make an attempt to do some of that this weekend. I did put the 1.4x TC on the DA*300 but that was just to shoot the birds feeding on the bird feeder, not a lot of walking around testing it.

As I start to feel better I will get out more and off my lounge chair. Maybe this weekend, health and weather permitting

Not sure how it works in other guy's homes, but in mine, it is the lovely "keeper of the checkbook" that has put up with me and my "BS" for 40+ years.

My better half makes all the money at my house, she retired with 93% of her pay for life. So I just have a little rent money from another beach house I let people rent for short vacations. If anyone want to visit the Fl. Gulf and our white sandy beaches let me know, it's a beautiful house overlooking the beach, cheap to rent too.

Congratulations on the purchase of the DA*300 f4. After receiving my copy on Friday, all I can say is that it is one hell of a lens!
