My Vivitar S1 105 macro...

From what I'm gathering...there at least a few of you that have been lusting after my Series 1 105/2.8. Let me tell you what--I'll make a deal with you.

The first person to give me $500 or a Sigma 10-20 or Tamron 90/2.8 (latest edition) can have it.

Are ya'll happy now?

Heather

The way people keep lusting after this lens, I figure that if they want mine bad enough, they're going to have to pay. To sweeten the deal, I might even throw in the UV filter.

Maybe they'll simmer down, now.

Since im obviously out of my mind, how will i pay for it? Paypal, or Google Checkout?
I will pay you exactly 500USD, and you ship it insured to Norway, as a gift?
Can you post some images taken with the lens?

PS: How does this one compare to the A*200 Macro or the 105 2.5 (i initially thought it was a 2.5, and rethinking my bid as of now )

To the best of my knowledge, there is no such thing as a Vivitar Series 1 105mm f/2.8. There are, however, a 105/2.5, a 100/2.8, and a 100/3.5.

Yes, Heather made a typo. It is a Vivitar Series 1 105mm f/2.5 lens.

Honestly, I'd be suprised if anybody would actually pay $500 for this lens, especially if they live overseas and have to pay duty taxes on top of it. No, I don't do buyers the favor of marking an item as a gift when it's really not--if they want it badly enough, they have to pay the taxes.

Like they say in the Hebrew National hot dog commericals, I answer to a Higher Authority.

I will still take it, even though you answer to a higher authority ^^

Still, i will not pay over 500 INCLUDING shipping (but not duty tax, which will be payed to norwegian government lol)

A sigma 105 will end up costing me 700USD new here, and a sigma 180 around 1400USD, that's why im interested in your beloved lens! Again, what can i choose to pay with?

How about a Voigtländer SL 125/2.5 Macro lens for $2899.00 Including shipping, anywhere?

Well, I packed the lens up since Libbe seems to be serious about wanting to buy it just to get an idea of how much the postage might be for me. We'll see.

I guess this would be a bargain for someone across the pond when a Sigma 105 costs $700 over there.

Maybe we could have a sale on the marketplace geared towards the European market--with the dollar in the toilet, they would get good deals and we would get more for our gear than we though we could, so everybody wins.

Tom, if you were to get rid of your Voightlander, you could afford to buy another FA limited triplet set in silver with cash to spare.

Yup, I could do that. If someone offers me the asking price, I will sell it and buy a Pentax DA*200mm, DA*300mm and a Lester Dine 105mm f/2.5 Macro lens.

But I really don't think that anyone is going to give me 2 or 3 times what the current market value. I could probably sell it for $1500, but it is worth more than that to me.

Shoot... If prices are that bad there I could just order a sigma for 350 and sell it to you.. Sheesh

That much of a price fluctuation is kinda sad .
