Lets Figure Out Who Made Those "Department Store"" Lenses (Sears, JC Penney, etc)

The one rule: You need to provide a visual link connecting the two, ie, post a photo (or link to a photo) of the 'real' version of it under its more common name. I figure this could be handy for when someone's staring at some oddball rebadged lens and wondering what the heck it is.

I'll start!

Rebadged Name: Sears 75-260 f/4.5 Close Focus Zoom

Real name: RMC Tokina 75-260mm

Rebadged Name: Sears 300mm f/5.6

Real Name: RMC Tokina 300mm f/5.6

Tokina sure kept busy in those days! I have several Tokina made lenses I really like.

Here's another Sears lens - this one not made by Tokina...

Rebadged: Auto Sears MC 1:1.4 50mm

Really: Ricoh XR Rikenon 1:1.4 50mm

Here's a two-fer...

Auto Sears MC 50mm f/1.7 AND Auto Sears MC 50mm f/1.7

Real names:

Ricoh XR Rikenon 50mm f/1.7 AND Chinon Auto MC 50mm f/1.7

It was surprisingly hard to find a photo of the Ricoh lens, so PLACEHOLDER

Two versions? Which one is your favorite?

This next one is a Montgomery Ward 85-205mm f/3.8 zoom. It came to me as part of a package deal. I think I tried it once and then put it away.
And until this thread came along, it never occurred to me to wonder who made it.
Turns out it was built by Kino Precision Industries - maker of Kiron brand lenses. It's most often seen branded as Vivitar.
I'm not sure if it was sold as a Kiron, but I couldn't find any pictures if it was.

Here's my copy badged as Montgomery Ward:

And here's one branded as Vivitar:

Of my copies, the Ricoh, but that's only because the Chinon was driven hard and put away wet before I acquired it.

The Chinon has a closer minimal distance, has a wider aperture range (1.7-22 as oppsed to 1.7-16) and has the extra aperture stops in between that the Ricoh lens lacks.

The Ricoh is an amazing lens, and its a LOT lighter than the Chinon, but the Chinon seems like it would be the superior lens if you picked one up in decent shape.

It's good to have choices. Thanks.
