now we are talking... how about that one (in memory of WendyB, I think I saw this picture in her topic about buying A50/1.2 for like couple of bucks):

it is cool, isn't it ?
hahaha i linked to that post in my "resources" section

that's one one yeah... i actually went to ask Frank what brand his hood was. and when i went to London i went to a store that sold those hoods. but only 49mm and 58mm in stock. but it goes great w/ the FA43 and FA31

if you google 'heliopan hoods' i'm #1

speaking about the hood... I did a quick search and found this item, cheaper than Heliopans, but
certainly not the same workmanship/design... still metal though and 52mm all the way.

Split screens are better, as not only to they show when the subject's in focus, but they also show you how far you are from nailing the focus.

On an AF-only camera, often what happens, you'll hit focus but won't be able to stop turning the ring in time. The you start hunting back and forth - just like Pentax AF !
trap focus/catch in focus @ 1.2 w/ Pentax *istDL... not that it proves/disproves anything because it was daylight @ 1/4000... and @ 1/4000 it really does not matter, I shall test under the dim light of course.
