Sandy, your Cousins photo has an amazing 3D look.

I've been considering portrait options, that's why I subscribed to this thread. I'm waiting to see what Sony/Zeiss come up with at Photokina for my a6000, but the FA 77 is still on the list, and your photo shows it will be hard to match, even for Zeiss.
Yeah that's what comes in my head when I saw it too with that bit of sidelighting, the picture really pops out of the screen, even on my pathetic lowres monitor.

I love my Nikon 85/1.8 but the rendering is much less 3D than the FA77. I really should pick the 77 and 43 one day! Let me know if you ever sell your copy Sandy

Actually, I love the tone & sharpness in that picture. looks like a great lens for "environmental" portraits.. or whatever it is called..

I've some nice glass but the F 135mm has a special place in my heart, It's a gem of a lens. Amazing I.Q, small, lighting fast AF, (CA at large apertures which can be addressed in PP)

Warning: this is a picture of a child. The young woman on whose lap he sits is his cousin (and mine).
For those interested in photography, I reckon the FA77 renders humans very nicely. This is at f/1.8

I really love that pic of your cousins. Superb. Should be framed and on respective walls.
