I hope I'm not going to jinx myself by bragging before I actually receive the lens(es), but this one is too good to keep to myself.

5 35mm LENSES IN CASE CANON KITSTAR - eBay (item 280223857322 end time May-10-08 12:16:34 PDT)

I have no use for the Canon and no knowledge of the Kitstar lens, but I did recognize a few of the others. I just hope they're in decent shape when they get here.

I guess everybody was out shooting today, because there is no way I'd expect to win this lot at that price. My high bid was quite a bit higher than that. I was shocked to see this go so low. The camera gods must be rewarding me for all the Honey-Do's I got done around the house today instead being out shooting.

I was thinking the same thing about the Fisheye Tak. I'm starting to regret moving so quickly on the DA10-17mm, although I doubt the Tak has much distortion on the digitals given the crop factor.

I have the K version of the 17mm F4 FE lens, very nice on the K10D. Awesome on a FF film body.

This could turn out to be an awesome deal. If the FE is in good shape you scored!. The others can be sold off to easily break even or better. Tell us what happens when it shows up.

Yeah, I definitely feel like the cat that ate the canary. I'm really curious as to how the FE looks with the cropped sensor. One of the reasons I got the DA10-17 instead of the Zenitar 16mm was that there wasn't enough distortion showing on digitals with the Zenitar. I figure that if you really want to go for that fisheye look, then the distortion should be considerable.

I can vouch for the Tak 17:4 FE. I had the non SMC version. FE lenses are prone to flare any way due to the nature of it. I didn't find it to be a problem as long as you don't get to near the sun with it. They are sharp from F4 but stop it down it is really sharp. It has built in filters for B&W film. The built in UV filter supplies great color and contrast for DSLR. It has a very close focus too. The size is very compact. A lens that if you wanted you could carry it with you all the time due to it's size.

It is a great find for the $66 winning bid for the whole lot. If you get the original lens cap will add value. There is a good chance it should be in decent shape as it comes in what looks like the original case. Tak FE has no filter threads so the front element is always exposed. With a little more luck hopefully the front element will be in good shape. The Tak FE's were produced around 1967.

The Tak 28 is no slouch either.
