What does the "P" stand for in "SMCP-FA"

What does the "P" stand for in "SMCP-FA" 50 mm F/1.4 AF for Pentax Lenses?

I'm seeing the same lens without the "P" (my old one) is going for about $150.00 more then the one thats new which has the "P". This seems odd because you word think the new SMCP version, since it appears to be a newer version of the lens, would go for more then my much older version.

Thanks and best regards,

Paul Mighetto

There is no difference. An older version of the lens might say Made in Japan rather than Assembled in Vietnam.

The FA-50/1.4 sells for around $250 on a pretty regular basis. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. rarely a lot more, even more rarely, a lot less.
