The Vivitar TX mount system is similar in concept to Tamron's Adaptall. I think it was introduced in the mid 70's, and it never really caught on as well as Tamron's system. Basically you would buy a TX compatible lens, put the mount you were given onto it, mount the assembled lens on your camera and go shoot. You should be able to find TX lenses on eBay pretty cheaply. It might be fun to play around with.

Groundloop, when you said cheap, I had no idea how cheaply you were talking about!

Auto Wide Angle f2.5 28mm zoom lens for Vivitar TX $5.50
Auto Telephoto f/3.5 200mm zoom lens for Vivitar TX $5.00

There's someone selling an adapter too:
VIVITAR TX LENS MOUNT ADAPTER FOR PENTAX MAMIYA/SEKOR $4.24

There's just over 20 hours left in those 2 auctions. Plenty of time for things to really heat up!

But, probably not.

Can you post a picture of the ens mount - from the box you should have a K-Mount bayonet fitting on one side and the screw threads to fit the TX end of the lens on the other.

If P/K,M doesn't mean K-Mount without Auto aperture communication, but rather means M-Mount (?) maybe you can use a Pentax M42 > K adapter.
