The DA*300 f4 is a stunning performer and so far it looks at least as good as the FA*300 f4.5 if not better. No hint of CA, sharp as buggery, lovely bokeh and colour rendition. The only drawback is that it is bigger than the FA*300 f4.5 - which is to be expected as it is an f4 compared to the old f4.5 which results in a filter size of 77mm rather than 67mm. It is good to see a tripod collar and absolutely beautiful build quality. For those that have FA* lenses, you will note that the DA*300 has similar rollers on the lens hood rather than just a plastic clip for locking onto the lens barrel.
