DC lens Sigma

Hi I just given the other day a Sigma 18 / 50 DC lens, with no paper work etc & with having flu etc cant be bother searching the net etc for info.
What I was wondering as Pentax is the APSC size sensor & say a lens from a 35mm SLR film day is a 1.5x so say a 100 / 300 is 150 / 450 lens . I know DC is for Digital Camera but this 18 /50 a 18/50 or a 27 /75 lens ? thanks

Hi,
Well technically an 18-50 is a 18-50 (sensor size does not effect focal range) but if you are using a Pentax DSLR then yes it is a equivalent field of view to using a 27 - 75 with a full frame camera.
From what I understand its a pretty decent lens too.

Hi I never thought of this but I had a 28 /90 lens as well not dc & a Tokina 28 / 105 not dc from old film days. I had a picture in lounge room &took at picure of it when the outside brackets in the view finer was in line with the frame. Took picture & looked at zoom it was approx 35mm. Did the same with other 2 lens & all 3 were 35mm approx. So now I am happy to know I have a 18 /50mm lens for the DSLR
