Which lenses to take to Boston?

Leaving in a few days for a 4-5 day trip to Boston. Mostly family celebration stuff, and I'll be expected to take some shots at the family events. But I should have some time to spend on the town. For example, I suspect my wife and daughter will want to take a "Duck" tour on Thursday, and who knows, we might end up at the Aquarium later....

Here's what I was thinking of taking with my K10D:

FA 50mm 1.4
DA 12-24mm
Sigma 17-70mm
Sigma 70-200mm f2.8
Sigma 180mm macro
Sigma 1.4x TC

Should I take my Bigma? It's huge and weighty, but I'm worried I'll miss shots without it. Should I leave out something in this list?

Other lenses I could take are the 18-55 kit lens, a Pentax-M 28mm f2.8, or a Pentax-M 35mm f2.

I'd be inclined to take the 2 Sigma zooms and the FA50. If you're going into the city, the 12-24 might come in handy for some architecture shooting, but it all depends on how much you want to carry. Chances are the 17-70 (during the day) and FA50 (indoors in the evening) will get the bulk of the work, while the 70-200 would come in handy for the Duck tour.

Tulips are in bloom at the public gardens. Not sure if you want to do the macro thing unless you're bringing a tripod. Some people also bird there, but I didn't see anything unusual (though there are supposed to be hawks)...the two white swans are in the pond.
Depends on what else you're planning on shooting. I suspect the 17-70 will cover most of it. I'd also bring a flash if you're doing indoor stuff.

If you take your TC with the 70-200, then you really don't need to take your Bigma with you; between the crop factor and the TC, you'd have 420mm equivalent telephoto coverage.

Unless you've really got your heart set on doing 1:1 macro, then I'd leave the 180 home if I were you. The 17-70's macro ratio is 1:2.3, which gets you pretty close.

If you've got the space, go ahead and take everything except for the 180 and the Bigma.

HTH,
Heather

Hi Buddha! Well, we are flying out of Charlotte. We don't have room for you, but I will take you up on your kind offer to take your lenses with me.

Perhaps one day you and I can go make some photos together.

Well in that case, I'd take the 12-24mm for family and around town, 180 Macro for Aquarium and the FA50 as a daily driver.
