Swapping Lenses

I haven't checked so apologies if repeated

Are the lenses used in the Samsung range(clone to the K10D)interchangeable with K10D(D-Xenon-Schneider Lens)

In short can they be used?

cheers

It is a PK mount, so the answer is: YES

they can. they are basicaly the same lenses with blue ring instead of green ring, and with differnet patterns on zoom/focus rings.

Samsung DSLRs = Pentax DSLRs. They're made in the same factory, they have the exact same specs. Basically what the Koreans did was wipe out "Pentax" and write "Samsung".

Accordingly, the two systems are identical.

please keep in mind they are not 100% identical, the software and user interface menues are different.

also, samsung uses "OPS" vs pentax's "SR", whether in reality the two anti-shake systems are identical can only be confirmed by an engineer working with both.

but yes, as far as lenses go, you can use samsung lenses on your pentax camera.

Aside from some cosmetic and interface differences, they are identical. Even the product brochures feature the exact same "drawings" for OPS, weather seals etc.

Lens, as long as it's a PK, would be fine. However, I wouldn't get a Samsung dSLR. Firmware upgrade would be much less frequent from a do-it-all Samsung compared to specialized Pentax.

Going along the line of compatible lens where would I find a list of different lenses
(apart from Tamron sigma pentax) that are suitable for the K10D

That's pretty much it for autofocus apart from some older Tokina optics. There are additional manual focus choices, the primes from Zeiss (ZK) and Voigtlander being the standouts. There are a few russian lenses like the Zenitar 16mm fisheye. And add a M42 adapter and there are many more choices. Lensbabies are made in K-mount.

You can check the third-party lens database on this site.
