Interested in Pentax 20-40 Limited. Hardly any (sample) pictures?

I'm on the point of buying the lens mentioned above. However, normally I study "tons" of pictures to be fully convinced whether a lens I'm interested in will fit my needs. This has been a bit of a problem here since there are hardly any pictures on the net that show what the 20-40 Limited is capable to accomplish if it comes to image quality etc.

Do you know any links/sites where pictures made with the 20-40 Limited are being displayed?

It's on my shopping list as my next must have lens. It ticks most of the boxes as my Ltd 21 and 35 are not WR. However I'm not that convinced that it is optically good enough. It's a lot of money and I'm not sure if people are being over critical about how sharp it is is isn't. My 21mm is suppose to be a bit soft, but I have have taken thousands of brilliant photos with it.

My bottom line is I'm more than happy to sacrifice a bit of sharpness for some of that magic dust. I suspect the lens hasn't been around long enough to see if it gets a cult following.

I know several Pentaxians that tried it and found it not worth its asking price, so they returned it. If you can get it from a vendor with a liberal return policy, you have nothing to lose by trying it out.

It's a Pentax Limited. If you don't appreciate the rendering of a DA 20-40, FA 31, or FA 43,
save yourself some money and get a Tamron 17-50, DA 35/2.4 or DA 50/1.8 instead.

I've seen these sorts of diagrams before, but what am I supposed to look for to interpret them?

Interesting, When I compared the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 to the FA31mm f/1.8 I did notice that the FA31 held a distinct optical advantage over the Sigma zoom. It is interesting to see how close the Pentax 20-40mm f/2.8-4 gets @31mm, though I'll bet the FA31 beats all the other lenses in corners.

I gave up my set of DA Ltds to get the 20-40 and haven't regretted that decision one bit. It has all the qualities that I want in that focal range.

I'm interested in what qualities you want from the lens. I like my wildlife to be razor sharp. However I love my Ltds for all the other things I do.

I wanted the focal range, clarity, contrast and color and rendering I had in the DA Ltds (21, 35, 40). I wanted a lightweight, WR zoom lens that would control glare. It has the lovely feel and build I'd come to expect for an expensive piece of metal and glass. I was pleasantly surprised by the bokeh and the sharpness. I use it primarily for landscape/nature images, casual family shots, and close up work so it fills my bill.
