I think the DA 55 will probably be sharper at f2 than the DA 50mm f1.8. Also, f1.4 is available if you need it.

The f/1.8 has 97.4% of what the f/1.4 can give you and only costs $130. However, since you said money isn't an issue, why not go for the da f/1.4?

DA50/1.8 is 4 times cheaper, but not worse than DA*55/1.4

Really sharp at all apertures and has rather good bokeh. No SDM. Very quick AF. Quicker than DA*55/1.4
