Great stuff, I'm surprised at the huge increase in saturation between f4 and f16. Nice and sharp though at both settings. Were these shot as Jpegs or RAW?

They were originally shot in PEF then converted to JPEG in Photoshop Elements 5. I apparently processed the two photos of the iris somewhat differently. I used mild sharpening (60, 1) on all images.

Way cool! I love the detail in the cropped pic of the ant on the peony. It looks like there's hair growing on the ant's butt, it's so detailed.

Alas, unless a big pile of money falls into my lap, the 300 is WAY out of my budget. Oh well, [sigh] I'll just enjoy everybody else's pics with this great lens.

Thanks, Ivoire. All shot with the K10D. I had to make a choice between the K20D and DA* 300mm. It was a very easy decision.

if you are shooting with a K10 and a DA* a little rain should be no problem. that is a weather sealed kit you are shooting with.

Outstanding, Ted - congratulations. I'm not sure how my M*300 would stack up. Your shots are quite impressive!
