I expect the DA* lenses to be offered with the largest discounts because those are the most expensive lenses, with the most profit margin for B&H and Adorama to play with. I have the 16-50 from last Black Friday and don't have an urgent need for the other DA* zooms. A DA 21 or DFA 100 Macro sale could convince me to fill a gap in my lens lineup if I don't buy used first.
Be careful what you wish for, once you catch the telephoto bug you'll be daydreaming about longer faster glass....
(DA 55-300 is awesome though)

No, no, no! Don't do that. Maybe we can get a rumor going that a 300 f/2.8 is imminent and Ricoh will have to build one then, because people saw it on the internet.
Sorry, I typoed again. New keyboard, you know.

What I meant to say is the only new lens I truly covet is the upcoming HD DA 300/2 DC WR. I hope its out by Spring.

I'm waiting for something decent ($75-100 off) on the DA 18-135.

Most 'retailers' have traditionally resold kits as pieces online for up to $100 off the regular price - but without lenscaps, lens hood and warranty card.

Now that is a nice lens. I think you also covet the matched 2x teleconverter.

I've really throttled back on my lens buying, but the LBA never seems to totally go away. This year may not be the year for me anyway - the gun shop had their fall sale way before Black Friday.

And I know what you mean SpecialK - Black Friday has morphed into Friday through Monday - even some retailers tried to keep it going until the following Thursday last year. I've never been involved in the actual Black Friday brick & mortar thing - looks way too crazy for a recluse like me.

Overall I've had better luck on Dec 26th than Black Friday or Cyber Monday or whatever it is.

Come to think of it, I've gotten a number of noteworthy deals right after Christmas. And it's usually on something unexpected.

Black Friday deals would be all pre-planned and merchandise laid in specifically for it. Dec 26th sales would be 'inventory adjustment', as in "we really need to clear those out so we have cash for payroll next week". So potentially much better deals, but also potentially no deals if the buyers got it right.

I doubt there is anything left in the Ricoh inventory warranting a "clear it at any cost sale". But hopefully they are planning for a nice Black Friday deal on some things.

Hopefully by Black Friday 2015 the 300/2 will be down to $5499 and the 2x TC will be $1249...

By then the K-3 IIs will be only $699!

I picked up my DA 35 macro last year on Black Friday but I doubt if I will buy anything this year.

I doubt that either the K5IIs or the K3 will be in the price range that will temp me. The bodies are not my main concern. Lenses - in that I am switching to AF. Looking for a 60-250 for under $1k. A 77 Ltd might be nice swap for my 85's too. Anyway - wait and watch.

I've gotten spoiled by being able to buy musical equipment for 2 or 3 years with no interest financing. I wish that was more common with cameras. The Sony Full Frames are available for 3 years no interest from their web site but I don't really want to pay full price for one of them.
