Being in Canada there is a long winter so indoor soccer is popular. Played in arenas with boards and nets along the seating.
Did I mention the horrible lighting ? Either too few fluorescent lights or sodium vapor. But that's part of the challenge is'nt it.
I enjoy this lens very much and for indoor it is enough, outdoor though 300 mm would be nice.
Here are some examples from the start of this years indoor season ( it's been a whole summer since last indoor season. I'm
a bit rusty ) And a couple of shots are through the netting , others through the plexiglass beside the goal, and one from outdoor season
So for what it's worth , go for a 70-200 2.8 . this Sigma is sharp at 2.8, when I can keep up to the action.
Shots are indoor/ outdoor/ indoor /indoor
I assume you use the lens with auto focus, am I right? Is this lens capable of focusing so fast that you can capture live sport action?
By the way: as almost all of you gave me the advice to buy an expensive lens, and not try to find the kind of "I have a cheap but breathtakingly sharp bla-bla" lens, I will invest in a serious glass in the future. Thanks everyone for the answers!
