this post made me have a little hunt in my own collection. I found a similar lens with a smaller lens mount.
Asahi Kogaku Takumar 1:1.9 f=83mm, is this the same glass with the older lens mount? The mount has a removable adapter that makes it usable on my old spotmatics M42 mount. Looking into the lens the number of aperture blades is just crazy it looks like there are 20 ( twenty ) in total !!!!! It does fit on my older Asahiflex cameras without the adapter. Any info would be appreciated
The m38 lens picture in the database shows a silver lens where this lens is silver and black. very confusing

This is a rear seen m37 version for the asahiflex . This must be really special. Wow. How did you come across this lens?

THE 83mm 1.9 Takumar M42 lens - yep - the ghost and the darkness from what I understand about the rarity of this lens. S/N 167499. Whoop! All of the above for $10.00! It has the original chrome cap, sun shade and original AOCO leather cases. !
Hi!
Congratulate on a great price achived on ebay. Do you have a close up of the sun shade and the marking?

A local camera flea market , I just keep asking if they have any pentax things , I looked on the lens database here and found a link to a German review of the lens used on digital cameras, will definitely be giving this a go to see for myself now rather than leaving it in the cupboard
