Help needed for Pentax K1000 and Vivitar 28mm 1:2.5 wide angle lens

Hello there

I already posted in an ancient thread about my problem

But still I want your help

I bought pentax k 1000 se recently and package includes vivitar 28mm 1:2.5 wis angle lens

I can't really install the lens to body

any suggestions please?

I am as new to pentax as to this forum

Is there a way for you to post a picture of the mount? There shouldn't be any problem mounting the lens if it is a K-mount.

Some of the Vivitars have an overly large protective shield (overly large for dslr) which (in my experience) is removed w/ 3 screws. If this is the case you can cut it down and add it back, or simply be careful and not.

Ignore what I said. As Boriscleto says--not an issue for the K1000. I was thinking DSLR.A

It shouldn't be a problem on a K1000.

I will post images, unfortunately not today

I am 24 hrs on call in hospital (so the first thing is to survive till tomorrow

)

I will post photos of K1000 and lens mounts too, and we will see if it's my rookie mistake or something "big"

Are you sure the lens is a Pentax mount? Vivitar made lenses in many different mounts and vendor may have sent you the wrong one. Just saying

while I am 100 percent sure that he made a mistake

deal is stepping back, he sends me real Pentax wide angle 28 1:2.5 lens, and I am returning it

kinda... hollywood happy end
