DA35/2,4-Samyang35/1,4

If we say this, is DA35 / 2.4 optically as good as a Samyang35 / 1.4

The DA35/2.4 has nicer rendering than any Samyang lens I've seen so far, and since the DA35 is derived from an F/2 lens, it has very good IQ wide-open at f/2.4 with nice round bokeh. Plus it has AF. And it's only half the price (or less, especially used).

As much as I like (and use) fast lenses, I'd have a hard time getting the Samyang. But there are others who have different priorities than me, and they might still like it.

Fun, I like to screw manually, sits well left then the old days when AF cameras / lenses were big and bulky.
Works DA35 / 2.4 to screw manually, or is it too small margins to play on the focus wheel

Sorry, I can't remember. My daughter has the lens and I haven't touched it in a while. I generally use AF when it's available.

Maybe someone else can answer here.

The focus throw is quite short (about 90 degrees from closest to infinity), and the lens does not have quick shift (manual focus override).
