I can already hear the grumbling that - its not specifically about a "Pentax" lens, but - there have been posts wanting a 18-300/f2.8 whatever lens. Well, here is an article with a very similar lens - with pictures!!!! A mere 18 pounds in weight and a real bargain at just $44,000 - I think I'll take 2 please.

very cool but I think in terms of functionality is pretty much useless

ha ha considering my camera is about 1.5 lbs it should be a perfect match. and i did work over time next week ha ha i will take one. actually i ordered the samyang 85 mm for 279 i believe seems like a nice portrait lenses

Not wide enough. It needs to go to 16mm without distortion.

And I'm pretty sure it won't really hold up image qualitywise for stills.

Isn't that the one that uses Quantum Entanglement to transport the image directly to the sensor? Or was it Quantum Tunneling? But that'd be taking next years pictures in advance I suppose. Hmm.. maybe not as there'd be no strings attached at that price.

That would rip off a k-mount if you carried it by the body.
