My Pentax kit has arrived!

Hi all.

I am SO excited, my K20D just arrived and so did the Pentax DA 21 Ltd. What a nice little lens. Well, the battery is charging so I cannot play yet (so I must share my excitement with someone). I already received the Pentax FA 43 Ltd. 3 weeks ago, so this is my current kit:

My purchase plans:
Pentax DA* 50-135 f/2.8
Pentax DA 70 Ltd.
Pentax Flash, not sure which.
Wider lense, not yet decided if it should be 14 f/2.8, DA 12-24 or new coming 15 Ltd. (those Limiteds are addictive aren't they?)

I love the cost and size of the Pentax equipment compared to what I am used to (and looking forward to having all the lenses stabilized).
I am done getting mediocre lenses. I get angry at myself for buying bad lenses and then blaming them for lousy picture quality, so now I am going to only purchase quality glass, so that I only have myself to blame (which is probably the right thing to do anyway ).

Looking forward to using the new lenses, sharing pictures, expanding the kit and learning from you guys and girls.

What a wonderful package to receive in the mail, no wonder you are excited. Congrats. I look forward to seeing some of your pics as soon as that battery has charged.

That's a cool picture! Do get the 50-135. It's an outstanding lens. Very good image quality, fast AF, just excellent all around.

Have fun with your new rig!

The FA43 is perfect for shots like this! Skin tone, colour clarity, bokeh... yes, you are going to enjoy it!

I am coming from Canon. I said that size and cost is better than what I am used to. However my initial impression is that the K20D delivers just as good image quality as Canon 40D if not better. Of course this also has to do with the great lenses

No regrets so far

I will try to test shake reduction and the DA 21 Ltd. later this evening...

Well I have nothing bad to say about Canon. If I had the wealth to go Canon, that would have been my choice, when I was deciding on a system. I decided it was too costly though. But basically Canon make very good cameras (obviously, or they wouldnt be where they are now). But Pentax is more economically sane for normal->advanced amateurs. And yes, you can use it as professionals aswell, but lets face it, if you make a living on photography and then can justify a Mark with some of the 30000$ lenses, you all would do it!

Well, my initial impression (and please be aware that this is only first impressions and that I mounted high quality lenses on K20D) is that it is easier to produce good looking pictures with the K20D than the 40D, but there are many factors (SR, good primes etc) and I don't want to start a war - just acknowledge that I am VERY please so far with my Pentax purchase.

Canon produces both great cameras and lenses, but I must say Pentax impresses me too (so I just ordered a DA* 50-135 !!!).

Already loving Pentax and the lenses - what do you guys call it - LBA?

Do yourself a favour and checkout the manual older lenses that you can use. I wish I did before I spent too much cash on new lenses.

Im going to assume that you can read Swedish a bit and link you two threads in a swedish forum.
