...not to worry, I was just interested in terms of lens and its performance. I am wondering a little about this lens still, that's why. Today I had a portrait photoshoot and it was difficult - not too much light and I runned into problems with high ISO while DOF and sharpness was not so great at f4. I was thinking to replace this lens for 24-70, 28-75 or 17-50, but I do not have enough data in order to really see if 1 stop would not cost me too much for sharpness and artifacts as CA. If you could help me with some comparison to 17 - 50, 16 - 45, 24 - 70, 28 - 75 I would be very grateful. I shoot semiprofessional but extremely on budget while I travel like crazy. My set up is 20 - 35 and 35 - 70, which is not bad, but these lenses has a side effects sometimes which ruins the fun or cause a problem. I do not carry light set with me. (I have set of primes, but its unpractical in travel conditions - so there are not with me much. I also have MX, so good FF is somehow important for me and thats why I did not go for Sigma 18-35 even - honestly - I am dreaming about it.)
Thanks a lot in advance.
I love your sample though. You got a lot out of this lens.

Sorry ...punched out a quick reply 'cause I was at work and didn't quite read it properly before hitting submit.

What I mean to imply was for landscape, set it at F8 (and forget fiddling about with other settings) and just go out and take photos ...the results will be sharp all over.

The file in the following link was at F8, but not a landscape scene, taken with my K-x last year rather than the K-3, so at complete odds with my comments above, but illustrates this lens' capabilities. Full res jpeg after post processing raw file in Lightroom and a very minor tidy up crop. None too shabby in my opinion.

Check the detail in the leather work bag for centre sharpess, daisies in extreme left lower corner and station building upper right for corners. There was a little PF in the original due the very contrasty day but was quickly removed in Lightroom using non-aggressve settings.

I generally don't use F11 on my lenses except for specific situations, such as really wanting to chase DOF or to enhance night time star bursts. On that last point, the FA20-35 is not so great at star bursts. My Tamron 17-50 does a better job of those.

My FA20-35/4 is arrived. As for f4-4.5 - my copy is weak at all focal length with K-5IIs. A bit better with K200D.
BUT... f5.6-8 is really sharp from 20 till 35 mm. The center is very good, the corners are good. Nothing to complain.
The corners are much better than FA*24/2, DA20-40, DA21 and even a bit better than FA31 at f5.6-8 (and really worse at f4-4.5). AF accuracy is superb.

The weather is really bad, I've just made several tests to check lens. Waiting for winter time to make better photos.
