Why Ricoh stopped THREE lines of Pentax lenses?

The line of DA plastic lenses has no progress.
The line of DA* lenses has no progress too.
The line of DA limited primes are stopped. THREE line of lenses are stopped. Is it good?

Did Ricoh changed the conception of developing of lenses?

I'd like and I need to buy new prime from any of this lines, but no new lenses...Will we see any new prime lens some day?

I think it's time you thought about leaving Pentax for another system...you don't seem very happy.

Your answer is unrelated to my thread. And insulting for me. Don't you think so?
If we translate it to less polite language we can see that you mean:
"Hey, man...If you don't like that no new primes, get the hell out of Pentax and sell all your cameras and lenses".

I have no any thoughts about selling my Pentax gear. The main idea of my thread is different.

If I want it, I could sell my Pentax without any thread at this forum and without public report.

Stopped? I don't get your reasoning. I guess they're stopped until the next one comes out...

What exactly do you mean? A new DA zoom was just announced and all the DA limiteds were recently rereleased with new coatings.
What is that one specific prime lens that you are wanting? It's easy to throw on blinders when your expectations are focused on a
small target.

dear FA all the guy asked was if anyone knew why the lines were stopped and he stated he desired to buy some lenses. Are you hoping to pick up his stuff cheap? To Ogl there are lots of reasons manufacturers stop lines. Usually they find a QA issue and have to figure it out and fix it.

Ricoh representative said that DA LIMITED primes close all focal range and Ricoh has no plan to produce new DA LIMITED.
As for DA* and DA plastic primes no any info at all. No such lenses in roadmap.

Why do you talking about new DA zoom? I don't understand.

DA LIMITED are old lenses with new coating and slightly changed body design.

Do you really think that it's new developed prime lenses?

Instead of DA* could be AW prime lenses. We have one lens - DA560/5.6 AW.

So, because its not the lens you want, the lines are stopped?

I think the DA limited line is done. I would love to see a couple of new DA * primes -- maybe something in the 14mm range and something like a 200mm f2 prime. Overall though, I just don't see a lot of space for new lenses. Maybe re-dos of existing ones like 16-50/50-135 with faster focus motors, or something like that.

My guess is that there is a shift to development of full frame lenses (24-70, 80-200) and that the focus is therefore moved away from APS-C specific lenses.

You did not originally specify 'prime' in your assertion that the DA line was stopped. You only mentioned 'prime' when
you got to the limiteds. Thus, my question.

And yes, I would consider new coatings to represent continued progress, counter to your assertion that there has been
'no progress' on lens production that has 'stopped'.

DA*55 is announced on September, 22 2008
Pentax DA15 is announced Mar 2, 2009
Pentax DA 50/1.8 is announced May 21, 2012

Am I wrong?

Tomorrow is November, 2014.

I doubt that you can see the real difference between SMC and HD coating in real life. In very special and rare situation - maybe...But...

When was the last time Canon or Nikon released a premium prime lens for APS-C? Oh wait.... they don't have any.

I'd love a "plastic" 24mm 2.8 or even 19mm 2.8. Maybe now that Canon has the former, we might see something similar... but probably not anytime soon.

In the meantime, there's a TON of lenses that we can get, some are new, too

Full Frame? Ricoh has no plan to produce FF camera.

DA LIMITED could go to 90-150 mm focal range. Is it bad to have DA135/3.5 LIMITED in compact design?

DA plastic has wide field to broaden. Very wide. Especially, for K-S1.

DA* or DA AW - 2-3 primes could be produced.

I think - A LOT OF PENTAXIAN buy AW wide-angle fast prime for travel, street-shooting and landscapes. And will be happy.

I agree. Or at least find a different venue to carry on the constant Pentax bashing.
