Testing the figma 70mm F2.8 macro

The first shot from this lens

Over all it is very sharp but also very slow to AF, sorry but I would not want to use it for people who do not have patience, also the AF hunts alot and is very noisy. But for sharpness it would be hard to beat. Oh and it's damn heavy to, more than a 70-300 so it has some heft to it.

I got this over the 35mm or 50mm macros as their working distance is just too short for me but the 70mm is also a tad short for insects. Now I hope Sigma releases the 150mm Macro to for pentax.

the Figma?
nice photo, i love watch photographs. usually for macros, manual focusing is better anyways.
if you're looking for a long macro, Sigma does have the 180mm macro for Pentax

Sigma 150 macro is really a nice lens. It was my favorite a few years back with a different system.

Your sigma 70mm is not bad either! What a beautiful first shot with it!
