Minimum Focusing distance

From the front of the lens or from the Sensor?

I did a seach already, and after wading through about 40 posts, I decided to just ask.....

Iam not sure about digital, but with film it was measured from the film plane so I guess it might be basicly the same for digital.

I'd be pretty darned sure with my lenses it's from the sensor plane.

MFD - From the sensor plane.
Working Distance - From the front of the lens.
