Must say I'm not a fan of the 15 but love the 21. Image quality so much better with the 21 and if you need to go as wide (or wider) than the 15 the stitched panos from the 21 are still better than the 15. And I have convinced myself that it's not one bad copy of the 15 as I have tried several, it just doesn't match up to the quality of the 21. I do agree that the 70 is undervalued and even that the 40 is under valued as well.

I've got both and would let the 15 go before the 21…..

You can often find 21Ltd for 350-400$ in the used gear market. Excellent condition too.

I bought a DA21Ltd in excellent condition from a Japanese seller for $276 U.S. just no pouch though, but oh well, I'll get one later. But as for the lens itself, I like it so much that if I had to buy it again, I'd have no gripe about paying full price.

I think the 21 is a nice lens but and was unique in its day compared to other manufacturers. But there are now a lot of more compelling offerings from others, including just as small, or faster, or including motors, or cheaper. And others have pointed out some alternatives in zoom land. But if you do want a small 35mm equivalent, it's a nice option.

There is no one else with the equivalent size, build quality, flare resistance and rendering though. If you want something to last decades rather than years, the limiteds are the way to go! Also the HD version does show some slight improvement over the SMC version as long as you don't want super starbursts. For Aussie condition the extra contrast and flare resistance is worth it!
