I have 3, unless non-K mount lenses are considered cheating:

Vivitar 50mm f/1.7 [my only K-mount 50, thus, my favourite in the Pentax realm of my gear]
Canon EF II 50mm f/1.8 [my favourite of my two Canon 50s and I like it more than the Vivitar]
Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 [unlike my FD 28mm lens, this one isn't very good]


I want:
Pentax DA* 55mm f/1.4 and Pentax's version of the nifty-fifty simply because I must have a 50mm in K mount, and if I'll be getting the DA* there's no point in getting the FA 50. Or that's what I think.

I only have two, an FA 50 ƒ1.7, and an A-50 ƒ2. The A-50 I bought as a body cap for my Program Plus. I've never used it.

Happened the same to me, I went out to the street and shot with my f1.7. Sadly I can't post anything, I shot film.

The DA 50mm f/1.8 is an absolute bargain today.. brand new selling for around 106 USD! Today I came across my receipt for my DA 50mm a couple of years old now.. 139.95! And that was a mint USED copy that I searched for awhile until the price became 'low.' hahaha

And super sharp it is.. very very very sharp stopped down to around f/5.6 -- actually I iirc popphoto did a review of 50's awhile back and it matched the faster and more expensive Nikons!

Ohhh Myyy....lol. I never thought of using a lens for a body Cap !!! Great.....and all I need is a few more body caps right now.....lol. Thanks for enabling a guy that cant stay off the LBA wagon !

i had a bunch of 50's but finally pared it down to just a few essentials:

M50/1.7 general performer and good on reverse ring for macro
Super Tak 55/1.4 decent bokeh
FA 43 limited nice contrast and 3D pop
Cosina 55/1.2 great bokeh
DA*55/1.4 decent all around
Helios 44-2 (58mm)
Helios 44M-7/2 (58mm) super sharp

In Pentax my favorite would be my m42 Tomioka 55/1.2 or my SMC Pentax M 50/2.

I did have a nice cheap FA 50mm f1.7 a while back though.

I also borrowed a Voigtlander 58mm f1.4 Nokton for a while, and its a stellar lens. Just amazing on all counts, only downside is I am not sure I could justify its use over the K55, although it is sharper around f1.8-f2.8.

The FA43 is perfect for me on Film, and the K55 works very well on both, on film for walkaround/portraits and on APS-C as a cheap 85mm equivalent. While the FA43 has quite characterful bokeh, the K55 is buttery smooth, lovely little lens that I picked up for about £30 IIRC.

I like the A setting on the Pentax but the CZ takes the prize. I use Metal Hood 5 on it and it looks fantastic.
