saw these at adorama....both are 2x, the description sounds pretty much the same....one is 140 the other is 100 bucks

anyone know the difference, or if i'd notice it?

also---since the numbers make me crazy....if i threw a 2x and my 50-135, would my max be 270, or something like 135 x 1.5 x 2.0?

for some dumb reason my mind is fried on this and i used to remember it much better. too much time on telecom work lately

Max would be 270. The field of view, however, when compared to 35 mm film, would be equivalent to 335mm. The 7 is the one to get. That is the number of lens elements in the converter. The 7's (of any brand) are the premium versions. The 4 element converters tend to be quite a bit softer.

Seems like I am being steered toward a long lens instead of the TC...which will cost me more, but may yield better results....but it's food for thought
