The best $20 camera purchase I ever spent.

Got this Asahi Pentax Macro F4 100mm lens off eBay about a year ago. The owner thought it had fungus on the lens, but it turned out to be where some glue was showing itself between the outer elements (lens). No one wanted to bid it up, so I got it for about $20. The image quality hasn't been effected from the residue.

My photo today with this lens:

It's a great lens. Got mine about 2 years ago from KEH in bargain condition for 50 bucks. Picked up it's little brother off ebay about a year ago for 30.

Very sharp and crisp shot indeed ! I have to say that was a fine purchase.. although I get equally good and sharp shots from my macro - I wish I had spent so little on it :S

I spent $400 on my Pentax SMC F 100mm f2.8 macro...and that lens takes photos just as nice. I like the water drop.

Not as good a deal as yours but, I got mine in a macro kit from eBay for around $100 and it had the M50 and M100 macro lenses along with a flash (140 that works) and a bellows. Had them CLA's by Eric for another $100 and ended up with some outstanding glass in LN condition. Very nice lens too.

. Age & climate seems to eventually get to the glue between elements. Mine also had a little cloudiness, but as with yours, the pictures were still superb. A great lens is the Macro 100 f4.
