Yes, full-size here. I think the corners and edges are really good. I did that shot to see those in particular.

I just "accidentally" ordered one, I couldn't pass on the ridiculous Black Friday price to at least check it out. I like the idea of a "WR" Limited - should be arriving Thurs!

Blake - I might have a brand spankin new black HD 21 to get rid of if I like the 20-40 enough - let me know if you're interested
I just ordered a HD DA 21 the other day. That and the 15 I already put in my list. ...and a K-3. Thank you anyway.

If I was to purchase this lens I would definitely purchase it from a reputable dealer that allows you to return it in case you get a bad copy. Another good thing this lens got going for it is that it can replace the 21mm f3.2, the 31mm f1.8 and maybe even the 43mm. I'm not saying it would replace the performance of these lenses, but if you want to travel light that is one lens instead of 3. Just imagine the ooh's and aah's you will get when people see this Leica-like precise instrument on your camera !
That is what I have in mind too but the price was too steep when it was first introduced. Now, at this price, it makes a lot of sense to just take this lens for travelling.

Well, I bought from B&H so returns aren't a problem. Like many, I would question this purchase at $1000. But for $679, it's another story. I have all of the DA Limited primes and will continue to use them. But, even with those small lenses, sometimes you don't want to carry anything extra and the 20-40 covers the focal range of three DA Limiteds.

I think $650-$750 is just about right for this lens. Congrats

Your flickr settings may be set to not allow full size image options for other people besides yourself. My account is set that way too, so I directly link the full-size image link (the one that ends in .jpeg) directly to people.

I'm sorry, This is true. I do have my Flickr settings restricted and forgot. Send me a PM w/ email and I'll be happy to mail that brick wall shot.

You can directly link the full size image. Just right click it, copy image location, and past that. It will be accessible (a silly flickr flaw, but a useful one for me).

Congrats on the purchase, Biro! Please do add your contributions to the DA Limited Zoom thread...as if I needed more convincing. I know it will find its way into my bag sooner or later.

It's interesting if there are good photos: sharp with good resolution across the frame. One man from Russian Penta-club sent me full-sized photos from 20-40 converted in Aperture - we tried to find sharpness together, but we couldn't.
The web-sized pictures are good, seems in focus. But 100% - it seems to us there are some problems.

For F5.6, that's quite good. Upper left corner is a little weak, but I think that's field curvature setting in (or slightly OOF, I have no idea anymore). The reason I say that is because the lower corners (left and right) are very sharp, and given the wall is sharp in the center, the focus must be on the wall or just short of the wall. That could affect the upper corners - but that being said, they are not "soft" in my opinion. Just not as sharp as the lower corners.
