LBA: SMC Fish-Eye-Takumar 1:4/17

I was given on a "long term loan" this beautifully built lens, and gave it a spin on my old Asahi Pentax Spotmatic II:

Here's the same scene with the same lens on the K10D:

This comparison really shows how much image we're throwing away when using these old lenses on our cropped sensors. Not to start yet another FF vs APS-C discussion, but to encourage people to get those film cameras out... I certainly am going to use mine more

After a careful comparison, I can see no difference between the two red X's.

Oddly, the images show up in my RSS reader (BlogBridge), but I also don't see them in your forum post when viewed with FireFox 2.
(I'm being purposefully descriptive in case an admin sees this thread)

This time I've uploaded them, instead of copying the URL.

I have one on the way and had high hopes for it, but the distortion on the crop sensor is not as much as I would like. Oh well, I already have the DA10-17 so no big loss. Looks great on FF though...

I can already think of how creative I could get with a fisheye lens...

Lucky and happy owner you are, yes?

I won't think about how creative I could get. I don't need another thing that kills my wallet.

By the way, the reason the first pictures don't show up, is that you have "referrer logging" turned on.

That's nice ... the colours are great as well.

I wouldn't mind getting a FE lens to go along with the rest of Taks.
