birdie shots with short DA*200mm

Got these May 17. from my da*200mm. Images completely uncropped . Needless to say I was very close to the subject . I am essentially a manual shooters and it is fun fooling around with the focus ring while it was doing the AF.

really nice shots, DA*200 seems to be another good lens from Pentax

#1 great capture!

If resolution permits, a crop to the upper 1/4, left 1/3 (head+neck) with the backlight may make a great composition, too.

It is not another good lens. It is just a reissue of the same old FA*200mm with exactly the same optics. Well Pentax throws in sdm & weather seal at around $1,000. The last batch of FA*200mms were sold around $1,200-1400.

I have been watching the FA lens for some time already.

Wow, they are really sharp! Daniel, congrads on the lens. I was almost going to buy the lens until I know my stock port folio crashed along the US market few months ago...

We are in a new world now. Some greedy bankers in the US ends up people everywhere is paying for them. I bet on the Yankee money going real down as the only way to solve it is to hyperinflate the money. All Chinese, Japanese Europeans and Auzzies will be paying for that huh.

The are quite friendly if they are hunting and waiting for fish

Here is one birdie shot of a non-wild bird

I went for the eye this time. See my refletion right in the eye.

I should have used flash instead. But if so it may just blink
