Pentax-DA 1.4x + DA*55 DoF

Hello,

I've never used a converter and thinking of getting the HD Pentax-DA 1.4x AW, in association with my DA*55 and DA*50-135.

I understand I would loose 1 f/stop but how about the bokeh? Would the DA55 f/1.4 behave like a true 77mm f2 in terms of depth of focus or is there a difference? Would it blur the background even more, like a longer lens would?

The da 55 and TC would set you back a lot more than the 77/1.8

Yea that's what I was afraid of. Plus if I shoot at f2, it would give me the quality of the DA55 wide open, am I correct?

I have a wonderful FA*85 but it's too big, and I find myself not bringing it anywhere...

Yes the center performance of DA55 wide open... I'd guess it will be ok f/2.8 and very good f/4+
