For landscapes you don't need a fast lens generally(which usually struggle with flare), of course for interiors and astro you do! For the price a Nikkor 14-24 you could get Samyang 10/2.8, Samyang 16/2.0 and pentax 15ltd with change to spare!

When will we see a good equivalent of those lens for Pentax mount? I'm really sick of seeing UWA lens when it's f3.5 or F4.
There is the autofocus DA14 f2.8, manual focus Samyang 14mm f2.8, and the fastest zoom in the world, the Sigma 18-35 mm f1.8.

Nikkor 14-24 is very expensive. I'm not sure if it's overpriced or not.

I wish to see this lens for K mount

Distagon T* 2,8/15 | ZEISS International

It's one of the best UWA lens on the market. Well expensive too.

It is offered in the M42 screw mount that Pentax supports with the M42/K adapter... You really loose no capability, just the A interface for lens ID and aperture reporting. Well, I take that back - you loose that bulge in your checkbook.

Go ahead and buy it, then! But if you want Zeiss quality, with auto aperture, AF, QS and in Pentax K-mount.. and for a good price.. well, that is not happening anytime soon.
But there are plenty of good UWA choices for Q, K, and 645.

Tokina 11-16 on K mount will resolve all of our problems and then there will be no need to open this kind of thread. If it's up to Pentax, they probably make a 11-16 lens with f/4.

I hear a lot of people lusting after that lens. Maybe Pentax can reach an agreement with Tokina.
