I just noticed that the K-3 test result at 8mm and f4.5 is identical to the flag of Bangladesh
At least the decentering of the Bangladeshi flag was deliberate!

Here's a recent picture from my own Sigma 8-16mm, and I just don't see what DxoMark is talking about. Sure, you might lose a little bit of resolution in the "doughnut" area, but I think it's an acceptable trade-off for such an extreme angle of view:

My point is that DxO boils an entire lens review down to one number so that it's "easy" for internet consumers to understand, and that number is based entirely on two dimensional test charts. In the real world though, we shoot three dimensional scenes. DxO does not publish their test methods, or even sample images. Anyone who has spent any time shooting with a great lens knows there there is more to the equation than sharpness. Color rendition, bokeh, in-focus to out-of-focus transition, control of coma, focusing speed, focusing accuracy, build quality, handling... the list goes on. All these things should be taken into account when rating a lens. So I call DxO's reviews irresponsible. For instance, if they did their research they would know that the K-mount does not report focal lengths below 10mm, (yet there is a way to add that EXIF data later which they did not do.)

Anyone considering the Sigma 8-16 should look at some real world images from the lens and decide for themselves. It's a really fun and unique lens. 8mm is SO much wider than 10mm or 12mm, it's hard to comprehend the difference 2mm makes until you experience it.

Lol, yeah...just keep the important parts in the "doughnut hole', and you'll do fine!
