Rokinon 14mm setup on K-3? Focal Length?

Hello,

My new rokinon 14mm f/2.8 just arrived. I mounted it on my K-3 and when i switch on the camera it asks me to input "Focal Length". The allowable values are from 35 to 1000. There is no option for me to enter "14" as focal length. What focal length should I select and how does it affect the pictures?

Thanks.

I thought it went down to 10 or 12mm? You sure 35mm is the limit?

Certainly it goes lower than 35.

Hit the right arrow button on the screen, then you can use the rear scroll wheel and up and down buttons to set the value to what you want .
+1
You can setup lower focal length using the arrow.

My K-3 allows for focal lengths between 8mm-2000mm to be inputed.

Ahhh yes. It does go down. The numbers on the left of the screen ranged from 35 to 1000 so I assumed that the lower limit is 35 mm. It does go down up 8 but I can not set it to "14 mm" though. It skips from 15 to 12. Does it matter which focal length I choose? Thank you all for the replies.

Just choose the closest to what you are using. So in your case it's 15mm. The focal length input is for the shake reduction system so it knows how much to compensate for at various focal lengths. May also be applied to EXIF data but not sure.

I find that surprising as Pentax makes a lens at the same focal length. Anyway, 15mm will probably do, as ultra-wide lenses don't need IS nearly as much as telephotos.

But that one will be automatically recognized and you won't need to input anything...

I prefer selecting 12 as the focal length because then SR will tend to undercorrect which IMO is less bad than overcorrecting at 15. For what it's worth, I tested my Rokinon 14mm at both 12 and 15 and saw no obvious difference.
