Exact same situation here. I actually like the lens well enough, but it's clearly, and by far, the weakest link in my lineup. I might upgrade it to the 18-135, 16-85 or 20-40 at some point, but that's a lot of money for WR. plus, apart from the 20-40, the other options would be larger.

So for the moment, the 18-55 stays.

My least desirable but can't get rid of lens is the SMC F 70-210. In landscape shooting, I don't shoot in that range very often, but when I occasionally need that range it's useful to have. And fortunately, I tend to use it where it's strongest: at the wide end. Nonetheless, the lens has the strongest color cast and is more prone to veiling flare than any of my other glass. I wish I had something that was even smaller, sharper, contrastier, with better color rendition. I recently purchased an M 135 f3.5 as a potential replacement, but I'm not sure a fixed prime can fill the shoes of a zoom, especially when it's precisely in ranges where you don't shoot often that a zoom is most practical and primes least efficacious.

I also have a Tamron 70-200, which I use primarily for zoo photography. But that lens is too big to carry around with me and I hate to leave a $780 lens in the car by itself. Who knows what kind of trouble it could get into when I'm not around!

F 35-70.
Wobbling front barrel, prone to loose contrast in strong light conditions, not too wide in wide end, nervous bokeh, rotating front element etc.
But by far the best my shots I made with this very lens. It can produce awesome portraits, landscapes and even pseudo-macros.
I love this lens, and I hate it. And my wife doesn't want me to sell the lens, 'cause she likes her portraits I made with it

Like others, I can't part with my DA L 18-55 WR. I rarely ever like the images from it, but it's my only weather sealed lens in the range. Plus it has sentimental value (and it looks pretty good attached to my K-5IIs).

This is a tricky one. Probably my Tokina-made Sears 75-260mm. I have that range covered between other zooms and primes, the lens is heavy and awkward to use, and if you aren't careful its prone to some truly spectacular fringing.

That said, it was the lens that set me on my path for collecting the Sears stuff, plus it has an absurdly high keeper rate - its hard to get a bad shot thats not user error out of it. Plus its part of ~the collection~ as well as hard to find, so I'd hate to lose it then have to find another one.

The 40XS that I got dirt cheap in a little brown cardboard box, because it was split from an end of line K-01 package. It's super-small, gives excellent results, and so on.

But, I lost the lens cap, on a day when I was particularly trying not to do so. The lens itself is a bugger to mount on the body because it is too pancakey, and its worrying that you sorta have to use the focus ring to twist and mount it. And it's impossible to get filters etc locally.

It is so small that it goes everywhere with me, but I never use it. To be honest, I hate the damned thing.

Soligor 180/3.5 M42 that's stored attached to an old Asahi M42 bellows unit. It was literally left by a friend on my front porch in a box full of Super-Tak gems and 4 SP's.

I have never shot an image through the lens but I browsed a little bit on it (and the Vivitar Auto-Tele 135/2.8 and Auto-Wide 35/2.8 that were also in the box) and at one time they were kind of cultish - they were on Monaghan's list.

I know I can't sell it for anything and I just can't force myself to throw it in the trash.

Maybe I'll futz around with it on a Q7.

My F50 1.7. I can't sell it for enough to justify a trip to the post office.

Other than that, I have really pared down my kit to what I consider the minimum.

Your Post Office must be far, far away, or your copy is in sad shape.

This lens usually fetches $100-250 on the market. My copy is definitely on my keeper list.

The K150/4.

This is a hard to find lens and mine is in mint condition, but I just don’t like the focal length on film. For me 150mm is too long for a portrait lens and too short for a decent telephoto lens.

I never use it, but will never sell it, so I just keep the K150/4 as a collectors item.

Mine is my M 100/4 with fungus. It's works well enough (unless sunlight hits the front element) but I don't do much macro and I find the green button metering to be kind of tedious.
It's not worth much on the used market and I do occasionally have a use for it so I keep it.

Edited to add: Oh yeah, My DA L 55-300 also. I keep it because it's small and light for the range it gives but I have better lenses that cover it's range. I haven't used it in more than a year but when I travel somewhere far like Australia and need to go light, it's good to have along for the reach without the bulk and weight of a DA* 60-250 and it's much more versatile than my A* 300.

Definitely my DA55-300mm. Almost never use it anymore since using my 60-250mm or my 18-270mm but there are those rare occurrences ....

I don't have any lenses I don't like. I have some that I rarely use, but that's because they're not typically appropriate for what I'm shooting.

For me, it's the Samyang 8mm fisheye. I NEVER use it. Well, maybe once a year. And I've thought about selling it several times. But it's just one of those lenses that as soon as you sell it, you will need it or start thinking of all the cool things you could've done with it. Just a very specialized lens, but a good one to have around.
I think that would have to be my choice as well. I have never considered selling it, but that's mainly because I don't sell lenses I don't regret it on those rare occasions where I give the 8mm a chance. The results really are unique.
