One of our forum member asked me among these two which one have better sharpness/ resolution / overall picture quality etc.
I am linking two of my picture in full size for your opinion, if you have some please feel free to share, thanks.

[looks like this was discussed in this thread extensively]

FA28 @ f/7.1, t1/15, iso100, early morning, Sun is on the left (look at the shadow)

F28 @ f/10, t1/50, iso100, after noon, Sun is on right (look at the shadow)

both pics look decent, but they are radically different, so making a comparison judgement based on just those pics would not be valid.

you should shoot the exact same thing with both lenses; same aperture, same shutter, same time of day, etc... repeatedly, then pick the sharpest(aka best focus) shots to compare.

use a fast shutter, not the 1/15th setting that was used in the first pic.

the thread link is not very useful either, because it got hijacked early on by 28mm vs. 21mm comparisons.

Sharpness seems to vary depending on overall picture size. Smaller images always look the sharpest to me.

What size should pictures be when making lens comparisons?

I can't even view a full sized RAW in its entirety on my 21-inch monitor!

I agree with @osv above. Could you post the same scene photographed with both lenses? Perhaps set up the camera on a tripod and take a picture of a park scene? I think even seeing a single aperture setting, like both lenses at f/5.6 would give a good indication of how each lens is sharpening up toward its optimal resolution.

Thanks!
