What I have:

M50 1.7
DA 10-17
DA 15 LTD
DA 21 LTD
DA 40 LTD
DA 50 1.8
D FA 100 WR
DA* 300
DA 1.4 HD converter

What I want:

FA 31
FA 43
FA 77
DA 560

Once, I have those last 4, I should have LBA whipped.

Until a new prime is released.
You seem to be missing some lenses.

I actually think my next purchase is going to be the iOpton ieq25 so I can mount a medium telescope and my camera.

Other than the DA* 55mm and DA70 LTD, what am I missing? I don't need the FA 50 or DA 200*.

The Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 ART, Tamron 70-200 f/2.8, and some longer stuff. You can never have too long of stuff. Ohh, and the Sigma 8-16, because that's wide. Really wide. Also, you're missing the FA*250-600. No, wait, I am missing that one.

We're discussing primes, not zooms. (I do realize that I forgot to remove the fisheye from my list)

My primes are my most underused lenses. In fact, this may be shocking to some of you, I think neither my 40 nor my 50 have been mounted in over 6 months, maybe even longer! I sold my 20, 28, 35, and and 50 f/1.4, and gave away a 50 f/2.0 to a budding photographer.

I want to like primes, I really do, but...

I wouldn't mind the Pentax A* 1200 f/8 and the Pentax F* 600 f/4 being in my collection.

It took me 2 years. But I finally got it. July 12th of 2014. The FA 31. Made in Japan for $749. I don't know how I lucked out on that price from ebay but I did.

3 zooms & 3 primes.

That's about how it went for me. I got the D FA 100WR first, got amazed at IQ over my zooms, then ordered the 15 and 21 at the same time. Have been hooked since as well.
Go for the 31 (not cheap but sooooo...satisfying....

I know, I'll end up buying the 31mm ltd. It is a matter of time and luck, I look for a bargain.

FA 31mm acquired... after [too] much analysis. Caved-in. You beauty.

The poor old FA 35mm probably on its way out now. A pretty decent lens in its own right.

It will always win. I've held out for so long, near to 4 years.

After you get tired of 35mm then you will probably migrate to medium format such as the $10,000 645z. If you are still alive and married after making this purchase and you still have a job then you might migrate to Leica equipment . OMG $7000 lenses, if that does not cure your LBA then nothing will.

Possibly. I doubt I have the ability currently to make the most of a 645d/z though.

This is my lineup now (pretty happy):

K-5iis
15mm DA f4
31mm FA f1.8
55mm DA* f1.4
100mm DFA f2.8
55-300mm DA f3.5-f5.8 (metal mount)

The long zoom is the weakest part of the setup, but I don't use long FL that much.

I think the LBA is in check.

I do not buy the point that we need any focal length covered and I will only buy what I need currently. But I cannot resist the last Thanksgiving deal of FA 31mm... Trust me, It is really a superstar lens! One lens to rule them all. This is the one.

My only complain is that it is not a macro lens otherwise it will sit on my camera forever.
