I'm pretty much the same way. I don't have as many zooms or primes, but I do enjoy the quality that I can get out of the primes over that of the zooms.
When I'm on vacation, I'll typically have the zoom on (now 18-135mm WR vs. 18-200mm Sigma) as most shots are short lived, and I'm not about to be either carrying multiple cameras or switching lenses often.

My 2 typical lenses: Sigma 28mm f/2.8 and Pentax DA 18-135mm WR. The 28mm is good enough for just about anything I need, with a little foot work zooming, sometimes a bit too narrow.
The zoom covers most ranges but isn't as sharp across the image or as fast.. but it has AF.

I use both zooms and primes. The zooms tend to make me think about which focal length I'd like to use. The primes make me think more about the scene in front of me. Primes make me feel better - is that weird?
Oddly, I've come to think of the DA20-40 as more of a prime, presumably as it is a short zoom, but I usually know which focal length I'll be using with it before I lift the camera.

I shot primes from 2006 (when I started taking pictures) until this year - the Sigma 18-35 turned me to the dark side. IQ is just so incredibly good plus it's fast enough to replace a few primes in my bag.

Only problem I've had is that it's relatively large and heavy.

Im pretty much a prime shooter. I use manual primes pretty much all the time. However if travelling....I will take my 18-135WR over a whole stack of primes.
Primes all the time for everything.....except for travel and related exploration and enjoyment where I want fast......and don't want to have to work at it. Then its a autofocus zoom.

I only use primes myself also.

See signature for my lenses.

Lately though, the Fuji weather sealed zooms are really catching my attention.

On ff film I got a lot of use out of my Sigma 28-200mm zoom, but after moving to digital crop k200d I missed the wide end. Got me a tiny DA15 and was spoilt by the IQ. Checking my shooting style I was also in the either the wide or tele end. Picked up the DA*300 for the wildlife but is surprisingly good for close up and candids of the family. Never looked back. The Sigma is collecting dust after getting a DA70 and smc 55f1.8 Takumar (both 2nd hand) for they artsy shallow dof pics. When I out with the family I don't switch lenses often and make do with whatever is on the camera. Thats half the fun and often with surprising results.

I own and use the 50mm 1.8, 35mm 2.4, Rokinon 85mm 1.4, Rokinon 8mm 3.5, and an old Sears 50mm f2.0. I love each of these lenses and enjoy shooting with them for their different creative features and also for the sharpness (except the sears lens... mine is junk).

BUT....

For weather sealing and versatility, I use my 18-135WR, and 55-300WR. I also have a 18-55WR and the 50-200WR my wife uses. These lenses offer exceptional Image Quality, but they cannot compare to the sharpness and contrast of the primes.

So, when the weather allows... the prime lens is on... Always... I personally enjoy the 35mm the most, but I wish I had the 21mm or 15mm limited lens.
