How do I get the manual focus lenses that I got cheap on Craigslist (seller had film K1000 set up with 2 lenses, filters, hoods, and body for $75) with my k200d DSLR camera? The lenses do fit, but the camera does not fire.

Not sure if its called the same thing on the K200 as the K20, but you have to enable the camera to use the lens without aperture information in the 'C' menu "Using aperture ring" or similar. Its the last option in the K20.

Also, if you have the camera set to Auto-Focus Single, the camera will not fire unless you have the AF indicator lit in the viewfinder. To get around that, set it to Auto-Focus Continuous or Manual Focus.

• Press Menu Button
• Scroll Right to Custom Settings
• Scroll down (several) pages to #23, "Using Aperture Ring"
• Move right to open choices (4-way Controller to Right)
• Check the Box "Permitted"
• Return to Custom Settings Menu (Menu Button)
• Press OK
