Any chances we get new wide zoom?

So Tamron is having a pre oder for its new wide zoom lens SP 15-30MM F/2.8 DI . I’m not even hoping for them to make it K mount lens and I’m not hoping that Pentax makes something similar, but we got Sigmas’s 18-35 after a year.

I thin tamron do not release new lenses. But this look like a lense made for FF, not with APSC in mind... I mean on APSC wouldn't 16-50 f/2.8 be more interresting or 12-24?

The Pentax lens roadmap has a ~12-28 on it. I guess we can expect it this year, presumably as a replacement for the 12-24.

SP DI means FF indeed.

The 12-28 look like an interresting range. Still It has been on the roadmap for quite some time already. I don't know if this is still their priority or maybe they want to ensure all 12-24 from last batches are sold before?

I have a Pentax12-24. Yes it's an F 4, which may not be fast enough for some. But for my purposes, it's an excellent lens.

Has 183N used the 10-17mm or the 12-24mm? Both lenses are excellent. If another wide zoom is coming, I would prefer weather sealing over the extra stop.

It's on the roadmap. DA wide zoom. 12-28 most likely and it may even look like this (with a red ring instead of a golden one):

Yes I use 10-17mm regularly, still fish-eye has to much aberration for me.

I would suggest try using it at 17 mm and physically work the angles, by moving up and down...while checking the viewfinder for the effect you're looking for. I've had this wonderful lens for about 5 years...but it is a lens that is a challenge to use....however if you 'work' it right you can get some magnificent wide angle shots....unlike any other lens can produce.

I recently ordered a Sigma 10-20. I got tired of waiting for the 12-28. Anyway the current 12-24 isn't WR. Why should I pay double for it?.

Depends of your needs . Focal lenses you like and the quality you need.
