Takumar on a K-5?

I have a notion to pick up a Takumar 35/3.5, one of the multicoated Taks if I can. It seems that optically they are the same as the hard-to-find K35/3.5.

Is there a screw mount I can use that would stay on the lens and fit both a K mount on the K-5 and a K mount on a Fotodiox adapter to a Sony a7? Any problems in using this lens and mount on the K-5. Except for manual focus and manual exposure, which I'm an old hand at .

Takumar on Pentax k-mount is easy. There are dozens of adapters on ebay. The best is the official Pentax one called "adapter K" it is well made, always works and a bit expensive @ about $30. The cheaper ones are often poorly machined and sometimes work fine sometimes do not work at all. Most who use the cheap ones remove the spring clip as it can get stuck and make removing the adapter (and lens) very difficult.

Also, there are adapters that have a broad lip around that do not seat completely and thus do not provide infinity focus. Perfectly OK for bellows or macro or uses that do not require infinity focus but not for regular use.

To get to Sony I think the Pentax Adapter K would just mount onto the K-mount->Sony adapter. Or you might be able to find a simple M42-->Sony adapter and skip k-mount completely if you are only going to use it on Sony. Just checked Google and there are dozens of very inexpensive M42 to E mount adapters, so that's what I would get.

The older m42 taks will work with an m42 to k adapter. There are some 28mm and 135mm k-mount taks, but generally speaking those are the same as their pentax equivalents (albeit without smc coatings).
