I bought these locally on Craigslist. A gentleman was liquidating all of his Pentax equipment.

I definitely have a lot to think about. No doubt I should shoot for a while before I decide. Is there a thread on the forums showing off the DA 60-250? I cant find one in the search..

I would keep them all but I feel a little bad having so much money tied up in lenses. Especially if im lusting over different equipment, is the DA 200mm F2.8 a sharper lens than the 60-250? It seems like I could practically trade these two lenses straight across.

I have the 60-250 it's an awesome lens. If you stick with some small format primes you will be glad when you lugged this one around. The quality is almost as a good as a telephoto prime and it doubles as a good (but big) portrait lens.

If you only shoot portraits, sell the 15mm. It is a great lens, but it's not a portrait lens.

I'll try grouping lenses according to how you seem to use them. Before selling anything, though, consider some wildlife shots with the 60-250 and some landscapes or architecture with the 15. Those lenses are excellent for those subjects and maybe you'll develop new interest in those subjects.

50mm Portrait

Keep the 55. It sounds like this will become your most frequently used lens. The DA 50 is redundant so sell it.

Telephoto
DA 60mm - 250mm f4
Tamron Adaptal 60-300
Probably sell both. You don't need lenses with this much reach for portraits. Buy a used manual 135/2.8 (very inexpensive) or Pentax 50-135 (AF and more versatile zoom).

General Purpose
Tamron 17-50 f2.8
DA 15mm f4 Limited
DA 35mm F2.4
For your usage, keep the 17-50 so you have a general purpose zoom when you don't want to keep switching primes. Sell the 2 primes. The 15 is a unique lens but mostly for landscape and architecture, topics where you don't show much interest. It also sounds like you don't use the 35 much so sell it because the 17-50 can fill that gap. Alternatively, if you really dislike zooms, keep the 35 and sell the 17-50.

Good advice - the only thing I would add is that the 50-135 makes a great portrait lens also. This plus the 55 gives you the opportunity for larger focal length portraits as well as portraits when you have left the 55 at home for some reason.

I never liked 50 or 55 mm lenses for portrait even on FF. I liked 90-105. On APS-c my 70 ƒ2.8 macro rocks, and I'd love a 77 ƒ1.8 ltd. Just from my experience, there are a large number of portrait artists who prefer long focal lengths. I'm not sure if it's the majority of them... someone would have to do some research, but it is a healthy number.

The ƒ4 of the DA*60-250 makes it less desirable for portrait work. But then, I just don't do a lot of portraits. I was trained for it, but, it's never interested me. If portraits are the thing, sell the 60-250, get a 77 ltd. You've already got a 55 if you decide you like something in the 50's better.
