I think this is where it comes down largely to personal preference, although I know many others share my taste. Sharpness is fine, I think, but that's seldom my #1 criteria. I simply believe it produces very attractive images:

I missed this lens until I finally got the FA*24/2 sometime later. Different character, but they're both good. A24/2.8 is very small - just slightly bigger than most Pentax 28/2.8 lenses (I've had 3 of those).
This has me thinking now of at least giving the A 24mm 2.8 lens a shot. I think I might be able to hold off for a while after seeing the photos....Thanks.

Well.....I ended up trying the Pentax SMC A 24mm lens. Just bought one off Ebay for $165. Figure if nothing else it will be a interesting lens for my MF arsenal. And if it doesnt work out the Samyang is always there for the taking. Thanks !

Interesting thought.... 28mm is almost half way between the 2.

I've only hit 24mm and 35mm using a zoom, but I did recently purchase a Sigma 28mm f/2.8 A lens. I 'really' like the FL on my K-30. Sometimes I don't find it wide enough though.

I have 2 that are very good , but still wanting to cover just a hair wider. It seems the 28mm lenses just don't focus quite close enough , but this 24mm will I think ? I use a 28mm ALOT !

It is absolute mint ! And I think for $165 its a good price too.
Im very impressed right off the bat ! Close focus and perspective is better than 28mm for sure.......This is a keeper for sure. Thanks Guys !
