Originally posted by Voe I have the Jupiter-9, Mir-1v, Industar-50, Helios-77M-4, Tair-3S but the one with the best bokeh and color is Jupiter-37A which is a 135mm lens. So make sure you include this one in your collection of russian primes.
Voe,
Thanks for the advice on the Jupiter-37A. I just might get one.
So far I have on order the Industar 50 pancake. Cost me $12.00 plus $18.00 shipping. I can see this getting expensive!
Here is my updated lens map:
FA 1.8/31 --> MIR-1B/1V 2.8/37 +6mm
FA1.9/43 --> HELIOS 77 1.8/50 +7mm
FA 1.8/77 --> HELIOS 40 1.5/85 + 8mm
DA 21 3.2/21 --> MIR-20M 3.5/20 -1mm
DA 35 2.8/32 --> INDUSTAR 6142 2.8/50 MACRO +15mm
DA 40 2.8/40 --> INDUSTAR 50-2 3.5/50 PANCAKE +15mm
DA 70 2.4/70 --> JUPITER 9 2.0/85 +15mm
I wonder if the MIR-20M should become a MIR-1B to keep the difference in the focal length similar to the others. Otherwise I have a 30mm jump where there should be only a 14mm increase. It seems to be more difficult to find lenses that are close to the DA series.
Wonder if you need a license to operate a Helios 40-2 on the front of a K1000?
