You have lenses like FA31 and FA77 listed in your signature and these are the two lenses you will keep?

Good point. That was a general suggestion but equally applies in my case as i moved to sony FF and. now selling those lenses. 50mm is my fav focal length on FF so keeping fa50 which i also use with pz1p. I dont see much difference between fa35 and fa31(personal opinion especially when Pentax no longer my primary body) so expensive one goes.

Gee, I can't wait to buy a full frame pentax camera for $2,500 and put a $25 FF piece of legacy glass on it and expect great images from it

+1 on the Tamron for me too.
Though not as wide as the DA 18-135 and a bit larger and heavier and not WR, it does produce better results. It is the zoom lens I've been saving for FF.

here is a ~$25 minolta celtic 200mm lens... celtic was their entry-level product line.

click on the three dots in the right-hand corner, "show original", blow it up to 100%, see the numbers on the tach.

you can do a lot with a $25 piece of legacy glass.

+2. I tried it on my old Spotties with satisfactory results years ago.

I have the FA20-35 which is a dream (size/weight at the expense of brick like build).
Since you already have a fast 50 and a 100 macro, an FA 20-35 would fit right in. Only negative might be that it is a an F/4.0 I also have one, and it is indeed a fabulous lens. My most used lens on my K-3. Add a prime 200 or a 70-200 zoom next. An SMC-A 135 2.8 would also be very nice, very nice performer that you can find pretty cheap.

To be fair, the OP is looking for a pair of used lenses having good value for money. While the "stack o' primes" hyperbole might be excessive for the F 35-70, I think that many users would agree that the lens offers good value for money, albeit not "great" IQ relative to certain modern (i.e., non-legacy) lenses. Nonetheless, it -- and other "legacy" lenses -- can be acquired at a very low cost and they offer decent optical performance. No, not "great" performance, but well-regarded. The DA 18-135 seems to also fit the "good value for money" category in the minds of many users (although it's not legacy glass).

The OP also listed several examples of possible lenses for consideration, in the range of 50-240 Euros. Budget may be an important consideration.

I don't think a lens should be dismissed simply on the basis of its price. Otherwise, we'd need to recommend to the OP a minimum price that should be considered in order for a lens to be worthy of mounting on the new FF camera. I think there's room on the mount for high-performance contemporary lenses as well as the legacy (or dare I say, vintage) glass.

I wasn't speaking to the OP. It was others who chimed in. Like yourself
BTW I have the F35-70 and enjoy it very much.

Thanks! The problem is finding a good one (or one at all, truth said)... I'm searching on european eBay, but FA20-35 seems to be unfindable! I found one from japan, at near 400€, plus VAT and import taes...

You hit the point I'm going to buy one great lens in the future, when i'll buy the FF; for now i'm searching a pair of "good" legacy lenses to play with
I discovered that the real problem is find used lens on the european market... Probably I need to have an holiday in the US

For now, I'm keeping an eye on a F35-70 f3,5/4,5 at 60 Euro...

It's the M28 3.5 that you want. It should not be much harder to find than the M28 2.8. Pentax's f3.5 28s are better than their f2.8 MF 28s.

Nukeglus, I think you should hook up with Jean Poitiers to help you find some lenses!

I don't think that is the point of the debate. The question is whether it makes sense to buy an expensive camera in order to use with cheap kit glass. Wouldn't it make more sense to buy a (considerably) less expensive APS-C camera and use the money you save to get some nice APS-C glass? Because the fact is, a photographer shooting a K-50 with the DA 17-70 will (assuming comparable talent) tend to get better looking images than the photographer shooting the FF camera with the F 35-70 for far less money.
